FAQ’s about LCS

(that’s Little City Sounds)

Who are you, actually?

Actually, I really do hate talking about myself. But in a nutshell, I’m a former event planner who has learned to harness my OCD organizational skills to help my musician friends (that’s you) make sure their music isn’t lost to the dustbins of history. I don’t rely on sales funnels or viral videos - I believe in genuine connection and community building.

If you want to know what it’s like to work with me, check out my free unsolicited advice over on my blog.

I’m recording myself at home / in my friend’s studio. I don’t have a big budget, but I do need some help.

First of all, congratulations! Don’t listen to the naysayers - it’s never been a better time to be a DIY musician.

I founded Omni Sound Project in 2020 and have worked with hundreds of home producers who create music. No budget is too big or small - I want your songs to be heard and I’m happy to help. Check out my coaching page for more info.

What’s with the name Little City Sounds?

When I moved to Austin in 1999, it was still really small. (In fact, it was pretty much a ghost town during college breaks.) I used to love hanging out at a coffeeshop on Congress Avenue called Little City.

At Little City, there was a mix of politicians from the neighboring state capitol building, serious-looking suits from the high rises, and a lot of really cute bike messengers (one of whom I had a smoldering crush on). The revolving door of strangers made me feel like I lived in a real metropolis, something I deeply craved.

Even though Austin is now a very BIG city, I’ll always have fond memories of the cozy little town that nurtured my love of music.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

Why do people ask these questions? Don’t they know that icebreakers are like cryptonite to introverts?

What’s that? You like icebreakers? Okay, fine. If I had a superpower I’d be Dolly Parton.

Okay, I’m down! What do I do now?

Woohoo! I love people who know what they want and take action to get it. (You’re my people.)

I think a great place to start is by participating in our Quick Win challenges by subscribing to my mailing list. I’m pretty proud of my emails - I think they offer a lot of valuable insight and some good humor, too.
